Dr Irfan Ahmad graduated at the University of Liverpool and established The Ridgeway Dental Surgery in 1986, where he maintains a private practice emphasising aesthetic, restorative and implant dentistry. He has collaborated with world-renowned ceramists including Willi Geller, Gérald Ubassy, Jean-Marc Etienne, Ernst Hagenbarth, David Korson, John Hubbard, Jürgen Freitag, Luc and Patrick Rutten, etc.

Academically, his publications are over one hundred, pertaining to aesthetic and restorative dentistry, in peer reviewed international journals including the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, Quintessence of Dental Technology and Practical Procedures and Aesthetic Dentistry (PPAD). His photographs have graced covers of, among others, the British Dental Journal (1999, 2002 and 2004), The International Dental Journal (2002) and PPAD (1998 - 2004). He is an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) and is currently writing five books, with five different major international dental publishers. His first book, 'Digital and Conventional Dental Photography: A Practical Clinical Manual', was published by Quintessence Books in May, 2004.
